Hearing Conservation Program
Dosimeter Testing
Dosimeter testing is a personal noise exposure assessment used to measure the sound levels an employee is exposed to over a work shift. A dosimeter, a small, wearable device, continuously records noise levels to determine if occupational noise exposure exceeds OSHA’s permissible limits (29 CFR 1910.95). The collected data helps identify high-risk areas and ensures compliance with hearing conservation regulations.
Written Hearing Conservation Program
Our Hearing Conservation Program is designed to protect workers from long-term hearing damage due to hazardous noise exposure. The program includes:
Noise exposure monitoring through dosimeter testing.
Annual hearing tests (audiometric testing) to track hearing health.
Training on noise hazards and proper use of hearing protection.
Implementation of engineering and administrative controls to reduce noise exposure.
Provision of hearing protection devices (earplugs, earmuffs) as required.
By implementing a proactive hearing conservation strategy, employers can reduce the risk of occupational hearing loss and ensure workplace safety compliance.
