Hearing Conservation Program

Dosimeter Testing

Dosimeter testing is a personal noise exposure assessment used to measure the sound levels an employee is exposed to over a work shift. A dosimeter, a small, wearable device, continuously records noise levels to determine if occupational noise exposure exceeds OSHA’s permissible limits (29 CFR 1910.95). The collected data helps identify high-risk areas and ensures compliance with hearing conservation regulations.

Written Hearing Conservation Program

Our Hearing Conservation Program is designed to protect workers from long-term hearing damage due to hazardous noise exposure. The program includes:

  • Noise exposure monitoring through dosimeter testing.

  • Annual hearing tests (audiometric testing) to track hearing health.

  • Training on noise hazards and proper use of hearing protection.

  • Implementation of engineering and administrative controls to reduce noise exposure.

  • Provision of hearing protection devices (earplugs, earmuffs) as required.

  • By implementing a proactive hearing conservation strategy, employers can reduce the risk of occupational hearing loss and ensure workplace safety compliance.
